Information we collect

When you submit a catering request, we collect the information you provide, including:

• Your name, phone number, and email address.
• Event name, address, city, ZIP code, type, date, and time.
• Guest count, selected catering package and setup, and special instructions.
• Questions or messages you send through your private catering-status page, and email correspondence about a request.
• Cake pickup details, selected cake or pie options, cake writing, instructions, and any reference image you upload.
• For imported corporate cake orders, the corporate order number, order details, source, and private original order link.

For locally submitted cake requests, we record the submitting IP address for security and abuse prevention. Our hosting and database providers may also process basic technical information such as browser or device information, requested pages, timestamps, and diagnostic logs. Approved administrators who sign in with Google provide their Google email address, name, and profile picture, if available.

How we use information

We use this information only to:

• Review, plan, quote, schedule, prepare, and provide catering, custom cake, and custom pie services.
• Contact you about your request and answer your questions.
• Send confirmations and maintain the customer status page.
• Create a calendar booking when a request is booked.
• Secure, operate, troubleshoot, and improve the website.

We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party behavioral advertising.

How information is stored and shared

Information is available to authorized Bruster’s Riverview owners, managers, and staff who need it to handle catering, cake, and pie requests. We use the following service providers:

• Vercel to host and operate the website.
• Supabase to store catering and cake requests, private reference images, messages, configuration choices, and related records.
• Google, including Google OAuth, Apps Script, Gmail, Sheets, and Calendar, for administrator sign-in, customer and staff email delivery, request records, and booked-event scheduling.
• Bruster’s corporate ordering services when a corporate online cake order is imported into the Riverview cake desk.

These providers process information on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms. We may also disclose information when required by law or when necessary to protect our rights, customers, or services.

Cookies and security

The public catering and cake-request pages do not use advertising cookies. Necessary, signed cookies are used for administrator Google sign-in and session security. Cake reference images are stored in a private bucket and accessed through authenticated server routes. We use access controls and other reasonable safeguards, but no online system can be guaranteed completely secure. Keep your private catering-status link confidential because anyone with that link may be able to view its request summary and messages.

Retention and your choices

We keep information only as long as reasonably needed to manage the catering request, provide services, maintain business records, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. You may ask to access, correct, or delete your information. Some records may be retained when required for legal or legitimate business purposes.

Children

The catering and cake request services are intended for adults and are not intended to collect personal information from children under 13.
